In 1881
in Sealy, a small town in Texas, Daniel Haynes builds a cotton-filled mattress.
In 1906
the Sealy company is created from Daniel Haynes experience and patent.
In 1979
The Posturetech innerspring, used in Posturepedic mattresses is created.
In 1989
The Sealy group achieves the continuous process for producing latex, which guarantees a perfectly homogeneous material and a very precise support.
In 1998
launch of Sealy Posturepedic DSS technology, which demanded 5 years of studies and 20 millions dollars in Research and development.
In 2001
the Sealy group, worldwide leader in the bedding industry, makes the acquisition of Sapsa Bedding, first latex producer in the world. Sealy brand is launched in Europe.
In 2006
launch of Cosmos, a new bed concept offering customized beds with the possibility to choose both comfort and support.
In 2007
Sealy group launches the 100% latex Bodyzones technology, which offers in the same latex core different densities, adapted to each part of the body, for a better morphological support.
In 2008
Sealy implements Bodyselect, a technology able to regulate the support level, thanks to an air technology, in order to propose a perfect customization of the support.
In 2010
the Sealy group launches a Sealy branded range of 100% latex mattresses, with its exclusive technologies such as Bodyzones or Bodycontour.
